Yesterday was a gorgeous, gorgeous Fall day here in Chicago so after my appointments I went walking. I rambled all over Grant Park and Millennium Park, then down to Monroe Harbor, snapping pictures and just relaxing. My city put on a show and I simply had to share the beauty. The colors were so unbelievably vibrant and the sky was so breathtaking it almost brought tears to my eyes. Enjoy!
I wish I could have posted them all, but here is the link to my Photobucket album so you can see the rest.
Fall weather is just the greatest. I thought no urban panorama could rival the northeast this time of the year, but I'm sorely mistaken. Such beautiful scenery you have provided. The photography is also equally astonishing.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing :)
Why thank you, Matt. I'm finally getting some use out of the camera I got for Christmas last year. I'm happy you liked my photography. I'm still getting used to having a camera. :)
DeleteI agree, Fall weather is the best and not just because it's football LOL.
Those are some great photos, Melissa. Good eye! Colors are just starting to appear here. Hopefully we see some before all the leaves fall off. Yes, we've gone from green to brown to gone in a week.
ReplyDeleteAnd wasn't last night's game wild? Each team only played a half. Denver just played a better half.
Thank you so much, Alex! I said to Matt that I am just getting used my camera. It's been so long since Ive had one, LOL.
DeleteIt was! Peyton rocked it that second half. Holy cow!
Mel, you're lucky to live in one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Chicago looks absolutely glorious, and the photos you took are phenomenal. You're talented, girl! :)
ReplyDeleteAww.. thanks hon! My Chicago is certainly is lovely in all seasons, but my fave are Fall and Winter.I do count myself very lucky to live here. :)
DeleteI love trees that turn that color red. We have more than a few around here but I always seem to miss my window of opportunity to capture it on film.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pics.
Red is my favorite color for leaves, though the gold looks gorgeous too. I never even used to think about taking pictures before I got my camera last Christmas. I'm still getting used to having one. :) I used to be disposable only for vacations, etc.
Deletelovely pics, Melsy. I thought Chicago was a he not a she :)))
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed them, sweetie. :) And Chicago is all woman for me. LOL
DeleteFantastic vistas! Great photography! Pictures like these renew my energy! Thank you Melissa!
ReplyDeleteI'm happy you really enjoyed these Craig. I was in such a good mood walking around and snapping these. It was like an artist day out for me. :)
DeleteWhat a beautiful city! I loved all of them, Melissa, but especially the ones of the boats. You guys have a lot of art to enjoy there too.
ReplyDeleteKathy M.
Hi Kathy! Thank you so much. That means a lot coming from someone whose photos I love. :) The boats were some of my favorites well. Monroe Harbor is gorgeous. We also have Montrose to the north of there and Jackson to the south along Lake Shore Drive. It makes for a beautiful trip going both ways.
DeleteYou're so right - breathtaking!! I've never visited Chicago but everyone I know who has says the city is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteHi Kittie! I hope you get to come to Chicago some day. I know I'm biased, but this really is a beautiful city. Such a wonderful walking city too.
DeleteI miss my old stomping grounds. Go Cubs! Go Bears!
ReplyDeleteHigh Fives! Bears rule! I'm not much into baseball LOL Hope you get to come back every now and again. :)
DeleteI love the photos and the feeling I was there~ Thanks for the tour...I am now officially homesick :D
ReplyDeleteThanks Melissa~
Hey Ella! I'm so happy you loved my pictures. It made my day to know you felt like you were there. :)
DeleteThere's something about the color of a blue sky in autumn that really stands out! I've never been to Chicago so thanks for the pictures. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Laura. I could not agree more. The blue just looks so sharp and crisp in the Fall. I'm very happy you enjoyed the pics and I hope you'll get to Chicago one day soon. :)
DeleteWow, awesome! Especially the third picture - though I'm sure it looks even more gorgeous in reality.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I loved it so much it's my new cover on Facebook. It was just a breathtaking day and I was happy to be able to capture it.
