Watching Willow Watts Launch Party...Time To Have At It Like A Rock Star

Today, super cool author and blogger, Talli Roland is celebrating the launch of her newest creation, Watching Willow Watts. I know, I'm about million years behind and everyone's probably already been there done that and is over this already, but I'm getting in the party anyway because I really am excited about this book. The theme for today is "If I could be anyone, I'd be..."

The reason for this is that the main character, Willow Watts, impersonates Marilyn Monroe after a You Tube video makes her famous. So for all of you out there wondering who I'd be if I could be anyone here it goes.

If I could be anyone I would be...

Sarah Jane Smith

I am a Doctor Who fan and Sarah Jane was my favorite companion of all time. I have always fantasized about being able to travel around with the Doctor, having neck or nothing adventures while battling Cybermen and Daaleks. Sarah Jane was the coolest chick in the universe to me. Brilliant with attitude and courage to spare, she traveled in the Tardis with the last of the Time Lords. She even went on to have her own adventures, fighting aliens and saving the Earth many times over.

RIP Elisabeth Sladen. You brought Sarah Jane to life and are terribly missed.

Now go with me to buy Talli's fabulous book.

  1. Damn good choice. My first thought was to be the Doctor but then I had the problem of deciding 'Which one?!' so I left it :P

  2. @Jamie Deciding which Doctor is impossible. I wanted to be him as well, but then I thought, I'd wouldn't want the burdens he has, but it would too cool to share his adventures. SJS was always hands down, my favorite.

  3. A fantastic choice! I love that she's full of courage. Yay for strong women!

Thanks so much for taking part. I really appreciate it! And I'm sorry I'm just popping by now. I flaked out early last night! xx

  4. Great choice, Melissa! And you can rock in my band anytime. I've already purchased Talli's book as well.

  5. never heard of Smith, I thought you would go for some naughty action female hero :))

  6. I don't think I saw Dr. Who, but it certainly sounds like fun.

  7. It seems an interesting book, thanks for your recommendation. Greetings.

  8. I've never watched Dr. Who, but she sounds like an awesome character. :)

  9. @Talli You are so welcome! This was tremendous fun. I'm just sorry I didn't get to the party earlier.

Strong women rock and SJS is definitely one of my all time faves. Glad you like her.

@Alex I would definitely love to rock in your band. Yay, you got Talli's book! Willow is too cool.

@Dez ;)) I almost did go with Wonder Woman. Her red boots were a big draw.

  10. @J.L. Dr. Who is great. The stories are well-written and the acting is always top-knotch. Glad you liked the post. :)

@Cherie Thank you!! I'm happy you enjoyed reading about her.

  11. @Leovi Hi there! I know it's been a while with my hiatus and all. I'm happy to be back and really happy you liked Sarah.

@Golden Eagle Sarah Jane was one of the coolest characters on a tremendous show. If you ever get a chance to check out some episodes, do it. They're well-written and interesting.

  12. Sarah Jane was an awesome companion. Elisabeth Sladen was one classy lady.

  13. Ah the wondrous Sarah Jane Smith, and the equally wondrous woman who played her, Elisabeth Sladen. I had a crush on her from the moment I first saw her in my local PBS station's first ever airing of Doctor Who in 1981 or so - I loved that she got to have another go at the character in The Sarah Jane Adventures. I was gobsmacked to learn of her passing. I still am. Rest in peace, Lis Sladen. I hope you and Ian Marter are partying up a storm somewhere beautiful.

I would want to be Davy Jones - live on the beach, no visible means of support, play music with your friends, and get animated sparkles in your eyes when cute girls show up. Yep, that sounds pretty good.

    Great post, Mel!

  14. Looking forward to your picks for the blogfest on Monday!

  15. @mariah Elisabeth sure was a class act. I miss her presence.

@Craig I still can't believe Lis is gone either. What a shocker that was.

LOL you want to Davy Jones. Those sparkles do come in handy when it comes to impressing the ladies. Plus, I love the whole beach house with friends and that huge red car.

  16. @Alex I can't wait to see your picks either, :)

@RaShelle Thanks! I always thought riding around between dimensions would be awesome.

  17. I always saw this show listed and never watched it. Now I'm thinking I should!

  18. @Kimberly You should absolutely check out Doctor Who. I love the way the show is written and how nothing is forgotten. The Sarah Jane Adventures was a brilliant show as well. I think all the seasons are on DVD, but I'm not sure.

  19. You think you're behind schedule? I haven't yet started The Hating Game. (I need to first finish CassaStar.) That's a nice tribute to Sarah Jane.
    Be well, Melissa.

  20. ANd she was pretty darn hot looking too! What an awesome woman and worthy of your admiration.
