TV's Bad Ass Bitches: Fiona Glenanne

This is a loving tribute to my ultimate bad ass chick on TV right now. If you all are not tuning in to Burn Notice, do so immediately. The new season starts on the USA Network on Thursday, June 23 at 9 EST. Fiona is the partner/lover of burned spy Michael Weston and she is one bitch you do not ever want to mess with. I thank the Holiest of the Holies and The Universe that the writers saw fit to create such an outstanding female character.

Portrayed by the super-talented Gabrielle Anwar, Fiona's got a resume and skill set that would make 007 jealous. A former provisional IRA operative, she's an illegal arms dealer, an unlicensed bounty hunter and explosives expert. She shoots first, asks questions later and isn't afraid to blow down the doors with her homemade goodies.

A brilliant strategist, she also handles herself quite nicely in hand to hand and can pick locks better than most highly skilled thieves. She's a looker too, using her sexiness as yet another weapon and can sometimes be found ramming one of her expensive high heels down the throat of an uncooperative contact.

The Lowdown on Fi...

Her weapons of choice are a stainless steel Walther PPK 7.65mm, a two-tone Heckler & Koch USP 9mm Para and her Colt .45 ACP M1911, but she also uses various shotguns. Her other favorite is a block of C-4. It's versatile and you can carry it in a small handbag for those unexpected situations.

She has soft spot for kids and will incinerate the bones of child abusers.

She absolutely hates being told what to do, which is why she is no longer with the IRA.

She loves guns, clothes explosives and shoes in equal measure.

Bomb making is foreplay.

Favorite Fiona Quotes:

"In my experience, if something seems too good, best to shoot it just in case."

"Use a golf club next time. Greater force to a smaller area."

"Nothing turns a woman on so much as when something goes boom."

"Of course the tactical support I'm giving will cost you. I need new shoes."

"I'm better at buying guns than I am buying shoes and I'm really good at buying shoes."

"I'll behave...Maybe."

Here is a look at Fiona in action. Love the work that Chrissy and Toddy aka fartarse83 did here. This is the perfect song for Fiona, My Chick Bad by Ludacriss and Nicki Minaj

  1. Burn Notice is one of my favorite shows! Awesome. And while Fiona is hot, I have to admit, I started watching the show because of Bruce Campbell. He's a riot!

  2. @Alex I started watching because of Bruce, too. I love, love him and the three of them on here have such great chemistry. This is one of my most favorite show on TV.

  3. Wow - hat trick! Three for three who came for Bruce, stayed for terrific show! I love Burn Notice - it is one of the rare TV children to my absolute fave of all time Mission Impossible - not an exact remake, but echoes of putting together schemes and cons to get the goods on the baddies. Fi is a hell of a character; not exactly what I look for visually in a woman but undeniable sexy nonetheless. She's whip smart, funny as all get out, and lethal when needed. I am incredibly fond of her. The actress who plays her - Gabrielle Anwar first caught my eye dancing a tango with Mr. Ooh Aah himself, Al Pacino (thanks for that nickname Matty) in Scent of a Woman. She worked here in my hometown on a small independent thriller called The Grave. I didn't work on it - I was doing something else - but my friends handled the makeup and makeup effects on the movie and they adored her, so she must be pretty good people. Great post Melissa!

  4. Not so familiar with this bitch :)
Maybe because I'm not an avid TV series watcher.

  5. Good show, and any chick who can blow things up like Fiona is ok by me :)

  6. @Craig LOL We are three for three here. Yep, Bruce brought me, but Fi, Michael and the great writing kept me. I grew up watching old re-runs of Mission: Impossible and loved that show. Nothing like cool schemes to take down the baddies, especially when you don't have to operate like the cops.

I'll have to check out The Grave. Scent of a Woman is where I first saw Gabrielle, as well. That is too cool you get to work on film and you know people in the industry. That's great to hear your friends loved Gabby. I love it when my faves are good people to work with.

@Moobeat Hi! Yep, Fi is adorable, especially when she's wiring something to explode. LOL

  8. I used to love that show. Is it still one? Fiona delivered some great one liners. Where do you start? Thanks for the trip down Memory Lane!

  9. she is quite lovely in BURN NOTICE. I also love Donovan guy who plays the lead role, and Anwar was also interesting in THE TUDORS, where in the first season she played the royal princess, Henry's sister who got married to Spanish king.
