Happy Birthday To ME!!!!! And Gift For Someone.

Happy Birthday to Mel....Happy Birthday to Mel...LMAO! Okay I'll stop. Yes, it's my birthday and Peter Jackson and Wing Nut Studios have thoughtfully released The Hobbit for me. Aren't they sweet? I'm going to be celebrating in Middle Earth with hobbits and dwarves, yeah, baby!

While I am off, venturing through the Shire, sipping tea (well more like margaritas, hey tea don't cut it) at Bag End, I thought I would leave you with a giveaway. Yes, that's right, it's my B-Day, but you could win a prize,  a free download of one of my stories. The winner gets to pick from among those on my side bar. As they are downloads, they're convenient and make excellent Christmas gifts, if I do say so, myself. I mean, who doesn't want to spice up their holiday season. ;)

The rules are simple:

Leave a comment and riddle me this: How do you think I should rock out on my B-Day? Give me your most outrageous, over-the-top answer. I have bail money so sky's the limit. I'll announce the winner on Monday, December 17th.

Also, leave your email in the comments, along with your story choice, so I can notify the winner. My gay steampunk tale, The Physician's Lieutenant is also on the table if you'd care to wait a bit for the release.

To give you an idea, one of my most outrageous birthday celebrations involved a pub crawl, strippers,  falling in a duck pond, table dancing and a trip to White Castle ala Harold and Kumar so while I may be old, I do have a wild side. And yes, there is photographic evidence, but this was right before digital cameras so they shall remain buried until all participants have been relocated or have expired. If I remember right, the table dance was me shaking my caboose to...Party Train by that quintessential soul group The Gap Band. Dig that 80's look in this vid. Choo... Choo.. Get on board...

So, what are you all up to this weekend? Going to Middle Earth? Here's hoping you have lots of fun whatever you are doing.

  3. Happy Birthday!!

For your birthday you should invite JRM, Michael Fassbender, Richard Armitage (gotta have someone from Middle Earth) and Tom Hiddlestone over. Fill a tub with whipped cream and strawberries and climb on in. Then play naked Twister.

  5. I did suspect that there was a largescaled conspiracy for releasing HOBBIT on your B-day. I don't know how you did it, but I take my hat off for your :)
You should abduct Steven Tyler, tie him up in your basement and celebrate your B-day torturing him in the way that pleases you :)
The Physician's Lieutenant? This peaks my interest :) We do love us men in uniforms..... There will be an eternal feud between you and me, Melsy, if I don't recognise myself in the role of Physicians trusted nurse whose task is to undress the patients :)

    1. Ooh, I like the idea of tying Steven up, but I'll have to leave the knots loose. Don't want to get the poor boy over excited lest he expire. ;)

Men in uniform are tasty treats, aren't they? Physician's trusted nurse...I am intrigued and already coming up with a new naughty tale.

    2. I have a feeling Steven doesn't have a date of expiration :) He looks 100 to me but is still very much alive :PPP /ducksbehindthecouchsothatmelwonthithimwithahammer/

  8. Happy Birthday, Melissa! It doesn't matter which one, if you're still kicking.

Try not to get arrested, even though that might add to the tale, when you retell it.

  9. Happy birthday, sweetheart! Have fun at your b-day party! (I hope there will be one) :)

Isn't it cool that Hobbit got released on this very special date for you? I bet you feel great about that. I'm saying this, because I clearly remember that back in 2007, Zack Snyder's phenomenal 300 was released on my b-day as well, and strangely enough, it ended up being one of my all time faves.

    Cheers!

    1. Thank you so much, hon. I hope your dad and your family had a great time. :) there will be parties, plural. ;)

The Hobbit was best B-Day present aside from the original LOTR films which were released about the same time back in 01-03. 300 was is one of my faves of all time, too. and yes, one hell of a bday present. :)

  10. Happy Birthday, Melissa!

I hope your time in the Shire was full of wonder and excitement. (and maybe a few wild and crazy moments too)

I'm sorry I'm late to the party...I've been trapped in reality and could use a little Shire time! (with a goblet of something "medicinal" on the side) :)

I hope you rocked your B-Day! Suffice it to say I'm toasting you this evening, Mel, and wishing you happiness and joy in all you do.

    Cheers, Jenny

  11. Happy Belated Birthday! I hope you enjoyed The Hobbit!!! We are going to see it once the crowds die down, I guess that will be in April sometime?

For your birthday, since you have bail money - you can go to see the Bears play, streak naked across the field and before they catch and arrest you, tackle Brian Urlacher! If that fails, run for Devin Hester! Now there's a good time =)

    1. Thank you, Elsie! I know the crew of Hobbit are hoping the crowds die down in April. :) Fortunately, my sister picked up the tix beforehand.

Now I love that idea of streaking across Soldier Field naked, but I'm afraid I would blind everyone. Though the refs would probably regain theirs like a blow to the head reversing amnesia. LOL I'd tackle Urlacher in a heartbeat. ;)

  14. Belated happy birthday. I'd say anything that involved either Christian Bale or Hugh Jackman naked would be good. Jello optional.

    1. Thank you, Diane! Hugh Jackman and Christina Bale naked definitely do not require jello, though that would be fun, fun, fun. ;)
