Monday News And New Aerosmith At Last

Happy Monday, Imaginarians! I'm still recovering from my kick ass football weekend. My Bears are 8-1 after thrashing the Titans where they live. 51 points, yo! And my Fighting Irish squeaked out a win in triple OT. Holy Guacamole, I am having a blast this football season.

I am also recovering from the emotional wringer on The Walking Dead. No spoilers, I promise, to my friends out there who have not watched the latest ep yet. I can't wait to talk about it with you, though. :)

Now on to some other great news. On Wednesday we have Mina Lobo's Resurrection Blogfest in which we get to bring back a post from the dead. I know the perfect one. We also have Alex J. Cavanaugh's Insecure Writer's Support Group. I missed last month because of some unfortunate problems so I am making up for it this month.

On Thursday, author Xavier Axelson visits the Imaginarium, bringing with him an excerpt from his first full length novel, Velvet. I cannot wait!

The bestest news for yours truly is that the new Aerosmith album, Music From Another Dimension drops tomorrow. It has been 11 long years since their last original album, Just Push Play hit the airwaves. I have been listening to my boys from Boston all weekend, amping up my excitement. I even got to listen to some of the new cuts already. Some of my particular faves right out of the gate are Street Jesus, What Could Have Been Love, Out Go The Lights and Luv XXX. Of course, a new album means a new tour, so sometime this summer I will be rockin' out to my guys live, singing every syllable at the top of my lungs and doing my Steven Tyler struts. 27 years, 15 studio albums, 5 live albums, 11 compilations (I have them all) 7 concerts and I am still in love. In love enough to get the famous Aerosmith wings tattooed somewhere on this old bod. I'm thinking about where I want it right now.

Have a listen and a looksee at What Could Have Been Love, the first video from their new album.

What do you think? Ever love a band enough to get a tat? Think I'm batshit crazy to do it? Looking forward to Mina's blogfest and the ISWG? Looking forward to Xavier's appearance?

  1. I usually stay away from sites with CONTENT WARNING buttons. You never know what will greet you. I've seen some weird stuff that I can't unsee.

    1. High Fives and fist bumps, my fellow Aerofan! From what I've listened to, this album is going to be fantastic.

I'm resurrecting a fun one that didn't get too much love for some reason. I can't wait for Velvet, either. I love Xavier's work.

  4. Awww... Thanks , Alex!

I know, 11 years is one HUGE drought. They did compilation albums in between with a new track or two, but not a full on album. I am in heaven.

A beat down, hell to the yeah! The Steelers got one on the G-Men. It was a good time for both of us.

  5. I'm watching THE WALKING DEAD tonight :) Hope I won't have to watch that horrid Lori give birth ... I won't be able to stand her moanings and groanings.... although they did say she will have a caesarian section :)

I did tell you Aerosmith has just announced a concert in Belgrade Arena for next year :)

    1. Dez, there is no way to prepare you properly for Dead tonight. Brace yourself. I want to hear from you ASAP when you've watched.

Yay! Aerosmith in Belgrade. Go see them, they do killer shows.

    2. that wench JenniferLopez is having a huge concert in Serbia this Sunday, and then we have Aerosmith, Billy Idol and Depeche Mode coming over next year.

    3. that's was like the dumbest episode ever, Melsy. Why on Earth would she choose the baby, with the possibility to have a stillborn, when she has a kid who needs her and a bunch of people who need a pair of her adult hands in that crazy world? And to do it in front of the kid... she just proved that she was dumb to the very end :(

    4. That wench Jennifer Lopez? LMAO!

I thought overall for her, it was a good death. Even with stillbirths, that baby has to come out of there and C section was the only way. I'm disappointed by Maggie, making poor Carl do the deed to keep her from rising.

    5. I didn't get that scene clearly, I think Carl was the one who demanded to do it because he wants to be a man or something, I think Maggie wanted to do it herself. Either way, I'm glad we got rid of Lori :) But I really don't approve of what they're doing with kids in that show. Strongly against it.

    6. Carl did demand it at first, but then at the end he asked her to do it and she wouldn't. I'm just glad she's gone, she's done nothing, but bring the group down and now she's left them with a baby that will surely be more trouble than it's worth. I hear what you're saying and I know it's bad, but I don't see any other way. :(

    8. yep, she ended the game in a selfish way as she lived. Thanks to her not being able to keep her legs closed, Carl is left without a mother, Rick without a wife, the group without a member, and she even left them with a baby in the middle of zombie apocalypse. Who on Earth will take care of it in such a world? She's such a ...INSERT B WORD.

  6. I'm not a Walking Dead viewer, but lots of people were pretty riled up about it.

I have the Chicago Defense on both my fantasy teams. They rocked it last night!

Can't believe Aerosmith is still putting out music. I bet the rest of the band was relieved when Steven Tyler left American Idol.

    1. Jay, it was really hellacious episode to watch. Very wrenching to watch and I can see why so many were riled up. :)

Chicago D rules! Smart choice for your fantasy teams.

We are all happy Steven is out of his American Idol thing, but it did give Aerosmith a new audience. And they have still got their rock star mojo after all these years. :)

  7. Go Bears! As for the tatoo, I don't love any band enough to permanently advertise for them. That said, you gotta post a pic when you get the Aerosmith one.

    1. Bears! High fives on the Cards and Larod Stephens Howling. He is one of my fantasy backs and earned me good points this week.

I will post a pic. LOL

  9. Haha, looks like you're as much in love with Aero as me with Morrissey/Smiths :-)

Not much of a Aero-fan, but I like most of their older singles + I'm madly in love with their effin' awesome b-side "Trash".

    1. Trash is epic! That is definitely a fave tune for me. Just when I thought it was impossible for you to get any cooler, you go name Trash as a fave Aerosmith tune.

  10. Yes, but as always, they had to make it interesting...

  11. You're not crazy at all. People have MUCH worse things tatooed on their body parts.

    1. Thank you, sweetie. You are so right about some of the things that people get tattooed on their bods. LOL

  12. Oh, I agree with the others. I've seen far worse things people have tattooed on themselves. A band name is normal compared to what I've seen! *LOL*
