An Original Rhyme by Me
I don't write poetry very often, but I love to churn out a verse every now and again when I am particularly inspired. Here's a short piece, untitled.
You look at me,
What do you see?
A number, a size
Something to criticize.
You look at me
And all you see.
A weight, a shape
Something to hate.
More than a number,
More than a size
I'm a spirit, a soul
Beautiful and whole.

ReplyDeletefrom me there is not much poetry to be had,
but if there was it would probably be bad.
@Chris Thanks!
ReplyDeleteEven bad lines

This is so true. Growing up I never thought I was thin enough, Now looking back, I see how thin I really was. As a thirty-something woman I feel just fine with all my full curves. :)
ReplyDeleteLoved this! And thanks for your lovely comments on my blog! :)
Pk, I know exactly what you mean. I was so horribly body conscious that it was depressing and I never loved me as me. I do now. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for your wonderful thoughts. I love visiting your blog.
How did I miss this! I love it~ This is so well done and true~
ReplyDeleteWe need to embrace who we are and size should not matter! :D
Thank you, Ella! Your thoughts here mean the world to me as I love your poetry. And yes, we should all embrace our size and love ourselves no matter what.
