Oh Happy Day And A Bitch Slap

It's Monday and what is usually a pit of a day is looking pretty great. Kansas State got killed by Baylor and Stanford prevailed over Oregon so that means that my Fighting Irish are Number One, Numero Uno, the Kings of the Hill...At least for now. I'm not counting any poultry just yet. There's lots of eggs that could hatch and wipe out my national title fantasies. So I'm sticking with my voo doo and my other rituals. They've been working for the blue and gold crew. My Bears...Oy Vey! I cringe just thinking about our QB situation. Damn those Texans! Ahem...

On to the Bitch Slap

SPOILERS, AHOY!!

I want to start by saying The Walking Dead was pure awesomeness this week. Daryl and Merle...That is going to be one rocking confrontation and I can't wait. Rick is losing it... Big Time. Carl, you're gonna be a big brother/daddy LOL BUT... ANDREA!!! Oh where the hell do I begin? This woman, who showed some spark last season, has been reduced to a silly ho. She needs a freakin' bitch slap along with the writers and I will deliver it gladly. I don't care how it is in the comics.

WTF?! I should have known better, I really should have known this was coming considering the pheromones floating around her these last weeks, but I remained hopeful. To my huge disappointment, apparently. Andrea was finally showing some hint of being a badass, but along comes Governor Hot Khakis and she's giggling and shaking her tail feathers like a salivating Twilight fan. I was so furious. She reinforces the stereotype women like me have been railing against for years. That we're strong until a man comes along, then poof, there go our clothes, our brains and our self respect. And what is it with Andrea and the loons? She got all sweaty with batshit crazy Shane, too. I mean, at least that tango came after a dance with zombies, so I can excuse it. But with the Governor? And not only did she ride the Crazy Train once again, she did it after turning her back on the person who saved her. She should be shot and left for walker hors d'oeuvres. Damn Hollywood producers for once again taking a woman with any hint of backbone and reducing her to sex toy status.

SPOILERS OVER (Bitch Slap, too LOL)

I'll leave you with a laugh. As a blonde, I really love this song because it wickedly skewers all the stereotypes about us yellow-hairs. And it seems appropriate. It's Julie Brown's Cause I'm A Blond from Earth Girls Are Easy.

  1. Sorry, haven't been watching the show. Although it was better I'm sure than the game on at the time.
    And weren't Saturday's games crazy?

    1. Saturday's games were unbelievable. I watched Oregon and Stanford, what toughness from the Cardinal! I was happy, then even more so when I found out about k State. So I am one happy camper. :)

    1. Thank you, sweetie! I just noticed that myself LOL I am very happily stunned to say the least. :)

I'm so happy you enjoyed the video,it cracks me up every time. Julie is an awesome comedian. Another favorite of hers is The Homecoming Queen's Got A Gun.

  4. My sisters and I collect blonde jokes and have been swapping them for years. But like any woman, I hate my hair and have spent my lifetime jealous of my Cousin Margie who is a ginger!

  6. Oh, hot damn...I haven't watched it, yet...yikes!
Yeah, I am really disappointed with Andrea and her big oogling eyes on the G-man! Ick...makes me queasy! I have been routing for Daryl to lead... What about Carol? I don't believe she is dead...

    1. This ep was hard to watch for sure. Andrea & the Gov is just gross. LOL I do hope Daryl gets to step into the lead. He's my fave.

    2. It is gory, I know! I was torn between yuck and laughter at poor Michonne. Merle is such a psycho. I felt really terrible for Rick, what a cool way to show his insanity, though. And Daryle is my guy, my number one. :)

  7. Oh man... I'm not brave enough to watch...

    Too scared! ;-)

    1. LOL That's OK. Walking Dead is definitely not a show for everyone. My mom and my sister cringe when I mention it. :) I have my father's taste in films and TV for sure.

  8. Having read the material (and seeing how Lori's demise is very different in the show than the comics), I have a feeling of what's about to happen to Andrea. It's not going to be pretty. :)

    1. Lori's death was really good, she went out strong. Still can't believe she left them with a baby. I hope Andrea sticks around, but I hope she gets her eyes opened big time.

  9. ooh, I'm watching the episode in about two hours :) Can't wait. Poor Ricks, that sad bunch will fall apart without his brain! Glenn will have to take over the business from him.

    1. Watched it:
      1. Puked myself when zombie insides fell over Michonne
      2. I really did NOT miss Merle... really DID not... why did he have to come back?
      3. Poor Ricks....
      4. How dare Merle take away my Glenn and Maggie???
      5. So lovely of Michonne to bring babyfood to the prison...

    2. I loves your response, hon. That gut scene was nasty, but it was funny in a very sick way. I was ewwing and laughing all at once. Poor Rick is losing his mind. Daryl is really going to have to step up. And I was holding my breath when Merle took Glenn and Maggie. Yikes is that going to be a confrontation.

    3. I cannot stand anybody touching or putting their dirty claws on Maggie and Glenn, I really can't, they are my soft spot.... If anybody puts a punch on them, Merle or Governor, I will fly over to Atlanta to kill them personally! Wonder how will Ricks and the co. save them from the Governor...

    4. I hear you and I'll help. I am very nervous for next week, Glenn looks terrible and it looks to be all Merle's doing. Wonder if they will end up in the zombie games?

  10. Congrats to the Fighting Irish! Julie Brown is such a brilliant talent. Whatever happened to her?

    1. Thanks! I am stunned the Irish are sitting where they are. We'll see after Saturday. LOL I don't know what happened to Julie but I do love her wit.

  11. Andrea's character has really been changed for the worse compared to the comic version. A real shame, she's a great strong character in the comics.

Outside of that, last night's Walking Dead was great. Collision course coming, just a matter of time.

    Bears will win tonight!!

    1. I hate that they changed her. Love the show, but they need more strong women who can step up like Rick or Daryl. Ca 't wait for the reunion of the brothers. That will be epic.

Here's to a Bears win, we need it. LOL

  12. The Husband Unit watches Walking Dead. I wish I could. If not for the zombies... Have a great holiday, Melissa!

    1. So the zombies are the deal breaker for you. Ah well ...I have a few friends here who won't watch because of the zombies, either. It is definitely not a show for one and all. :)

Have a very happy Thankgiving with your family.

  13. You're a braver woman than I am - I opted out of the Walking Dead...or as I like to call the lot of them, the Walking Deadbeats! Really, I was into it last year, but I just can't wrap my "blond" head around it this season. :)

And...you and Dezzie must be on the same page in the "chick" humour department...laughed myself silly with The Heat, over at Dezz's place, now I get this little blond diddy...I am getting my share of belly jiggling today. Won't have to go my hola hooping class today! HaHa!

Thanks for the spoiler alerts...I feel all caught up! :P

    1. LMAO!! The Walking Deadbeats...:) I love it. Glad I could catch you up with the spoilers.

Dezz and I do have a crazy sense of humor don't we? As a blonde I just adore this song and it always puts a smile on my face. Earth Girls are Easy is a fun comedy for sure. Happy to get you out of hoola hoops, though that does sound like fun. :)

    2. My daughter lent me one of her hola hoops and I'm pathetic at it, but in fairness I am trying! Supposedly it's good for the waistline (mines rather non-existant these days) so hopefully this will find it.

I'm all in for a good comedy and a good laugh - did you read my comment to your comment over at Dezz's - we need to have a blog fest for The Heat, whereby we all "go" together, at least in the same week, and blog the dickens out of it!

And...keep the spoilers coming...my daughter thinks I still watch, she'd be heartbroken if I told her I'm up to my eyeball (the one good one) with my zombie pals. hahahaha

    3. I have a very non-existant waistline and have for years LOL I did read your comments and I am all for going to see The Heat at the same time, then blogging. What a fun way to enjoy the film even more.

And yes I will keep the spoilers coming. Wouldn't want to blow your cover. ;)

    4. Thanks, those spoilers will keep me out of the doghouse with the off-spring! Don't want to ruffle the feathers of the person that's going to look after me in my old age! HaHa...like that's wishful thinking, eh!

    1. I love hula hoops myself and boy, did I spell that wrong up there. LOL

Thank you for putting the Alexfest together. He is a great guy and you four are special pillars in this community, too. :)

    2. Actually you're off the hook Melissa, I think I spelled hula hoops wrong...thank goodness there's a guy in the crowd that has a handle on things around here.

Hi Stephen...how's it going. I remember hula hoops as a kid too, but these my daughter has are in a whole different ballpark - I have to stay clear as she practices with three at a time...she gave a friend a black eye when one went flying and her friend wasn't quick enough. Yikes, who'd have thought such a simple "toy" could end up as a weapon!

      Delete
    3. LOL I hear you, Jenny. I swear that my own spelling skills have fallen off in proportion to my brain matter loss over the years. Which give my nephews plenty of ammunition when it comes to my going over their schoolwork. :)

  15. Your posts are so much more entertaining than these shows will ever be, Melissa. I love it. It's stuff like this that starts my day off right (i.e., laughing): "I mean, at least that tango came after a dance with zombies, so I can excuse it."

    Thanks, hon.
    Be well.
