I know I was supposed to post on Monday and left you all hanging, I am really sorry. I had a wild weekend that just was surreal and I am still recovering. I partied like I was 25 and can't remember some of the things that happened. I crawled home as the sun was creeping over the horizon, then had to go to a Mother's Day cookout. All this after I was only going to drop off a birthday cake. Yeah, trouble will find me. LOL
My Bulls are stinking up the playoffs. I hate losing, but to the Heat makes it worse. They are part of the sports Trifecta of Evil for me. They are the loathed enemy and it is humiliating to get destroyed by them. LeBron James is more evil than the Emperor in Star Wars to me. Needless to say, I am not a happy camper.
I've hit a wall with my writing and am trying to get back on track. I've been trying to do some creative things to help stir my imagination. Minds out of the gutter! LOL
I've been popping round the blogsphere and finding some really intriguing news and posts. Maynard from Horror Movie Diary and Emma from Little Gothic Horrors did a great dual post on Beetlejuice, a classic film and a definite fave of mine.
Mind of Mine is celebrating five years. Congrats, my friend!!
This Friday is the Best and Worst Movie remake blogfest hosted by Alex J. Cavanaugh, Oh my list is so long. There have been some really horrible, unnecessary remakes out there. Footloose, I'm looking at you. Don't worry Alex, I've still got plenty of ammunition for Friday.
Star Trek is this weekend!! I cannot wait. I'm taking my mom as she is a proud Trekkie, too. I'm also going to try and hit the Great Gatsby as I LOVE Baz Luhrman and feel that there has not been a really terrific film of this novel. Redford lacked the fierceness of Jay and played him like a cool courtier. So not Gatsby.
What is up? Let me know the scoop.
I think everyone should party like they're 25 every now and then!
ReplyDeleteHigh fives, Johanna! We all should let it all go like that every once in a while. I did thoroughly enjoy myself.
DeleteI'm not a big basketball fan (but when I watch, I root for Boston) but I totally agree with you on the Heat and LeBron James.
ReplyDeleteAlso looking forward to Star Trek. I'd like to see Gatsby, too, if I can swing it.
Hey M.J.! Thank you! I hate the Heat with a passion. And I have a soft spot for Boston, too. Big Larry Bird fan here.
DeleteStar Trek, yes!
Sorry about the Bulls! They were favorites.
ReplyDeleteThanks for mentioning our blogfest.
And ready for Star Trek on Friday!!!
Thanks, Alex! And anytime. :) I'm really looking forward to this blogfest. I so cannot wait for Star Trek, it looks just spectacular.
ReplyDeleteGo go Melissa! Mother-Daughter Trek time! I can't wait! The blogfest will be great too since it's hard to pick.
ReplyDeleteHi Maurice! Mom-Daughter trekkies loud and proud, baby. :) The blogfest is going to be great fun. I have so many to choose from, LOL.
DeleteWoot woot!! Thanks for mentioning our nice little Beetlejuice collaboration :D :D :D
ReplyDeleteTrouble will find me? Lol that reminds of that song :)

It was an awesome collaboration! I loved seeing all the pics and reading your thoughts on the film. I'm happy to do a shout out for you both.
DeleteThanks for the video!
i am a star trek... nut. i am neither a trekker or trekkie... i love it all well, maybe not enterprise tv show...
ReplyDeleteI love it all too. And yes I'm one of the weirdos who loved Enterprise. ;)
DeleteCan't wait for Star Trek. The past weekend was a little hectic wasn't it?
ReplyDeleteHey Susan! StarTrek is going to rock... I love Karl Urban as McCoy.
DeleteThat was no doubt a wild party. I'm looking forward for the StarTrek movie. And still have to make my research on the movie remake. Maybe you can pass on some suggestions to this dragon. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Al! It was a wild party and all I was going to do was drop off a birthday cake. I will certainly give you some suggestions as I have a whole list good, bad and truly ugly remakes. :)
DeleteLeBron more evil than the Emperor - LOL!
ReplyDeleteI hope to see Star Trek this weekend.
Hey Diane! LOL LeBron is more evil. Just look at those hard eyes and his dirty play. ;)
DeleteI hope you get to see Star Trek. This is my delayed Mother's Day present to my mom.
fingers crossed that some of the things you don't remember happening this weekened, happened with Victor :))
ReplyDeleteLMAO! I wish fireman Victor had been there. I could have been rescued from my current state of loneliness, if you know what I mean. Droughts suck, Dez!
DeleteOoo, a wild weekend. Can't remember the last time I had one of those. I'll live vicariously through you...
ReplyDeleteI have tickets for Star Wars Thurs. night. I can't wait! It's the only movie I've been excited about in years.
Hey Mary!! I'm jealous that you are off to Trek. I am dying to see it, but have to wait for the weekend.
DeleteLive vicariously through me anytime. :)
Aww... thanks for the shout out, Melissa! It was great collaborating with Maynard again, and 'Beetlejuice' was the perfect subject for me because I'm just mad about that movie! :D
ReplyDeleteAnytime, Em! I'm always happy to support my awesome friends. Beetlejuice is one incredible film and I just loved your post.
DeleteLooking forward to Star Trek and I'm curious to hear what you think of Gatsby, I loved it!
ReplyDeleteHi Daniel! I can't wait to see both of these and I will for sure share my thoughts.
DeleteCan't wait for Star Trek and WOW WOW WOW re: your weekend! Good on ya, sistafriend! It's good to go buck wild and cut loose and remember only some once in a while!
ReplyDeleteLMAO!! Hey there Craig, like my weekend, eh? I still can't believe that one. It does feel great to let loose every now and again and I have not done that in a very long time.
DeleteHere's to Trek!
I am looking forward to Star Trek! Gatsby rocked in 3D and I loved Leo playing the part! :D
ReplyDelete25 is a good time till the fog clears-hope you are doing better! I was 26 on my birthday, yeah that was an April Fool, for sure, lol!
Take Care
Hi Ella!! Leo is so wonderful, isn't he? I just adore him and think he is one of the most gifted actors.
DeleteHugs and thanks! I need to write you an email because my cardinal is gone. I think he got mis-packed, but I don't know and I'm sad about that.
I'm so ready for Star Trek and Gatsby. Robert Redford would be my last choice...first, not a fan, second, he's not Gatsby, plain and simple.
ReplyDeleteThanks for confessing the crawling...haven't done that in a while, but glad that there are others out there willing to say so ;-)
Just keep at it Melissa, you'll get there. You've got a string of success behind you. This is a blip.
Tina @ Life is Good
Amen, my sister Tina!! High fives all around on that one. Redford is not Jay Gatsby, there was no fire in his performance, no obsession.
DeleteThanks for the total support on the crawling. I haven't done that in a long time, but it sure felt liberating.
And hugs for the writing encouragement. :) I needed it.
The Bulls may be stinking in basketball, but I tell ya, the bulls are in the driver seat when it comes to Wall Street. I been making money hand over fist in my retirement fund with each new high that the Dow, S&P, and Nasdaq all hit. So yeah...I'm all for those bulls :)
ReplyDeleteI'll be seeing Star Trek later today.
LOL Michael, you have one very unique way of looking at things and that's what I adore about you. :)
DeleteHave fun at Star Trek!!
I believe its healthy for one to party like they're 25 once in a while.
ReplyDeletewww.modernworld4.blogspot.com
Hi Gina! Yes it is good to let loose every now and again. Thanks!
DeleteThat is so cool, that you can enjoy Star Trek with your mum. I didn't realize it'd be out so soon, now I can't wait to see it!
ReplyDeleteSome Dark Romantic
Ooh, please share! What sorts of creative things? I'm trying to stick to my edits and revisions, and not get distracted by drafting new stories!
