It's the last day of the year and I am stunned at how quickly the time has gone. Can't believe we're at 2012, the Mayan apocalypse if you believe that stuff. I don't. After the craptacular way 2011 started and ended for me, I have to believe that 2012 is going rock. I've made some resolutions to help me get my act together this new year.
1. Get healthy I know I resolve to lose weight, etc, every year, but the way my health has been of late, I really need to get on track. I'm sufficiently scared to do this. Plus, I will be standing up in November to a wedding on the Maya Riviera and I want to look and feel my best.
2. New job. I really, really need some full time work. This hustling with freelance and no insurance is killing me.
3. Get my writing organized and get out those two novels that have been gathering serious dust in the back of my desk. I want them published and am determined to see this happened.
There are only three, but these are going to be tough and I feel that if I can accomplish them, then my 2012 will be epic.
I have gotten so much wonderful, amazing support and words of encouragement from all of you out there, it has really humbled and stunned me. I think you all are the best blog buddies anywhere and I hope that 2012 brings you all good things, huge success and dreams come true. I look forward to spending more time with you next year and hearing all about your joys, your successes and your troubles. You will always have a friend here.
Melissa, may you achieve all of that and more! And you can do it. Just make the decision and then do whatever it takes.
ReplyDeleteYou are definitely one of the most special friends I've made online. Your support and friendship mean the world to me. You rock!
Now tomorrow, have a fantastic New Year's Eve no matter what.
All terrific goals, and achievable too. Where your head goes your ass will follow. :)
ReplyDeleteYowzer, your novel, Byzantine Provocateur, just about melted the insides of my new Kindle it was so hot and steamy. Terrific read. Your voice is so confident and intelligent. Glad to hear there are more novels in the drawer ready to come out.
Happy New Year, Melissa!!
Those are three worthy goals. I'm in the same vote as you for number one. I say it every year, but this year, I have to do it to better my health. I don't want to give up my cookies!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! :)
Best of luck with your goal for the coming year. I look forward to reading your tales of success later on...
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
I need to get started on my set of resolutions for this year...
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your resolutions. Just a little plug - sorry! - but I've planned a post in a couple of days time that might help you with #1. Have a great New Year!
ReplyDeleteMel, you're such a positive person and that's one of the reasons I love you so much. Your goals are all important. Being healthy is a must, because after all, your entire life depends on that. I hope you'll get a well-paid full-time job in 2012, and I have no worries about your writing. You're clever enough to figure that out. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteGood luck Melissa, for me new years resolutions have a way og going in one year and out the other :) Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI feel the Mayan apocalypse is upon us, Melsy, which is why we must enjoy food, sex and films double the time more than this year :))) But I have a feeling the two of us will be left to fight of zombie armies...
ReplyDeleteDrop me a line at Face for weight losing tips :) You know I lost 60 pounds once

ReplyDelete@Dez Where do I begin? You are one of my bright spots this year and I cannot wait to see what next year brings us. Thank you for always being ready with the support and being that sarcastic wit. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! Let's hope we all don't go down in a wave of angry Mayans riding Apocalyptic motorcycles. Or something like that. So long as I can see Haywire before we all die, I'm happy.
ReplyDeleteAll great New Years resolutions! Sounds a lot like mine. Best of luck in succeeding with them! Onward!
Those are three hugely important and multi-step goals. Kudos to you for setting them. And we're here to support you all the way.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful New Year, Melissa!

HAPPY NEW YEAR Melissa! I hope 2012 turns out to be a fabulous one!! Those are some great resolutions! I still haven't narrowed mine down but it always usually comes down to losing weight as well (story of my life, haha).
ReplyDeleteI have really enjoyed coming by your amazing blog and learning more about you. I can't wait to see what's next. : )
Happy New Year, Melissa! Once you conquer your three biggest objectives in the new year, and I harbor no doubt you will, I'll be in my corner of the blogosphere (and Twitter!) to offer a most sincere congratulations. In the spirit of preemptive declarations, therefore, I say congrats, Mel. Those goals you've set for yourself stand no chance of impeding your progress.
ReplyDeleteHere is to achieving your listed 3 and I'm so with you on the full time work and no insurance, it sucks!!!
ReplyDeleteSo let's meet here next year and do it all again. :)
Jules @ Trying To Get Over The Rainbow
You can do it!

Wishing you a 2012 of awesomeness!
@M Happy New Year! I just got an image of Mel Gibson's Apocalypto peeps riding on Vespas chasing me. LOL Haywire is definitely on my 2012 must see list. I will truly cry if this movie is not even more exciting than the trailer. But I have a feeling it will be more than worth the wait.
ReplyDeleteSuccess to you in your resolutions. 2012 is going to be epic. :)
