Check Out The Zombie Farm
Love zombie movies? Can't get enough of those shuffling flesh eaters? Well come and check out my review of this strange, campy, but somehow fun film The Zombie Farm aka Macumba over at Dead End horror blog. For some oddball reason I liked this movie. It was fun and weird and just the thing for a late night when I was stressed and having trouble sleeping.

I'll definitely have to check this one out at some point. Thanks for the recommendation!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jeffrey. It was bad, but in that good, campy way. I just liked it.
ReplyDeletewill go check this one out now Mel. Core everyone wants you now huh? x
ReplyDeletewhat? A zombie film when you are stressed and have trouble sleeping? :)) That surely is a unique treatment for insomnia :)
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I've never heard of this movie :) Anyway, your review is great as always and I might give this one a shot, if I find it :)
ReplyDeleteDempsey, sweetie, I'm going to have to make you my agent. :)
ReplyDeleteDez, I do have a rather unique way of trying to fall asleep, don't I?
ReplyDeleteGeorge, hun, I had no idea about this film either until I was asked to review it.:) Check on the site http://www.maya-entertainment.com You should give it a shot for the uniqueness alone.
ReplyDeleteZombie films can be rather hit-or-miss, but when done competently, they are awesome. George Romero and Sam Raimi immediately come to mind. They are two perfect examples of brilliant filmmakers who capture the intricate horrors, contradictions, exaggerations, and visual powers of a good Zombie story.
ReplyDeleteYour review is emboldened by a critical sincerity. You smartly balance the pros of the film with an honest telling of the negatives. This allows a would-be Zombie Farm watcher to determine if they're willing to take the plunge. This is precisely what a critique should accomplish. Well-done.
That poster is indeed hideous. I'll check your review at Dead End now.
ReplyDeleteAnd I think I need to try your horror therapy for insomnia sometime soon, Mel. :)
oooh, I love a good zombie flick! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI am in complete agreement, Matt. Romero and Raimi are true masters. Thank you so much for your high praise on the review. It means a lot.
ReplyDeleteLOL Jaccstev! I hate that artwork. Campy horror makes for a great stress reliever and an insomnia cure. :)
ReplyDeleteTo Melissa's readers:
ReplyDeleteI blogged here a month ago about my new book, THE DEAD DETECTIVE AGENCY. It has been reshuffled in my publisher's line-up and is now scheduled for APRIL 1,2011. The crazy world of publishing!!
Giveaway winners were M.E., Sara, Alice, Lelia, and Savvy. I haven't yet heard from Savvy, who should contact me through my website to say how the book should be delivered. http://pegherring.com
Hmmmm... a zombie flick can set your mind at ease and send you off to dreamland??? Interesting. I can't watch anything negative before sleeping. I'm weird that way. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm waiting to see the zombie wereman who turns into a vampire. LOL

ReplyDeletePk, I am kind of strange, I know. :) Now while movies can put me to sleep, they are responsible for some rather out there dreams. lol
